Reflecting on 2025
Before diving into my plans for 2026, let me take a moment to reflect on last year:
- Did I achieve what I set out for?
- What were my biggest wins and lessons learned?
- Were there any surprises or setbacks?
So below are the goals I set for 2025, which I will take a short retroactive glance at:
✅ Personal Goals
- Maintain regular fitness routines (exercise almost daily, but allow flexibility).
- Improve sleep quality (a goal carried over from 2024).
- Enjoy life’s small pleasures (including occasional indulgence in food).
- Grow your blog:
- Publish steady, high-quality, and interesting posts.
- Reach a larger audience.
- Create an introductory video for your blog.
- Continue active posting.
I managed to maintain a regular fitness routine, though I did lose some progress for a few reasons I won’t go into detail here. It has definitely been a great choice to keep exercising for my health.
The one thing I wasn’t as successful with was improving sleep quality—not to the extent I had hoped. Still, I made some progress, which I consider a win.
Enjoying life’s small pleasures is important for happiness. Since work isn’t one of them, this has been something I focused on during my free time, and I think I did my best to achieve this goal.
Growing the blog has been challenging due to limited time, but my audience has grown steadily, which I’m pleased about. I’ve managed to publish new posts regularly, and I have no intention of stopping now!
✅ Professional Goals
- Expand knowledge and skills at work (through courses, seminars, work trips, and new projects).
- Grow your net worth (via steady income, investing, blogging, or selling items).
- Continue good environmental practices (e.g., recycling).
Unfortunately, no seminars, work trips, or new projects came along last year, so this might be something to add to this year’s goals. Recycling, however, is something I’ve continued doing because I find it extremely important in today’s world with climate change and increased global consumption.
My net worth grew steadily last year, even with real estate prices going down. This wouldn’t have been achievable without a steady income and investment profits. Other income sources were so small they barely had any effect.
✅ Travel & Adventure
- Travel abroad 1–2 times during the year.
- Explore new destinations in Europe (possibly central Europe with train connections).
- Consider a longer trip during winter months.
I actually traveled abroad several times—three trips to Tallinn and one to Lisbon, Portugal. Read more about my adventures and recommendations on my blog (Tallinn & Lisbon/Portugal). So, while I didn’t make it to Central Europe, Lisbon was an incredible visit, and I enjoyed every day there. Definitely recommend going! Unfortunately, there were no winter trips.
✅ Personal Growth
- Learn new skills (primarily through blogging and related activities).
- Reduce stress to improve sleep.
- Focus on mindset and balance rather than strict metrics.
I learned a lot through blogging and continue to gain more every year. The beginning is always the hardest, but once I got started, it became easier—though there were a few hiccups along the way. I also managed to reduce stress by taking things slower and allowing myself time for self-care instead of always putting others first. Balancing things out and maintaining a focused mindset was a great goal for last year.
With these reflections in mind, I’m ready to outline my plans for 2026, focusing on growth, travel, and balance.
Why I Don’t Do New Year’s Resolutions
I’ve never been a fan of traditional resolutions—they often fade after a few weeks. Instead, I focus on intentional goals and sustainable habits. I feel like you get better results when you set several goals for your life without carving them in stone, allowing flexibility.
Predictions for 2026: What Might Happen Globally?
While no one can predict the future with certainty, here are some widely discussed trends and possibilities for 2026 based on current global trajectories—and how they might influence my plans for 2026:
1. Technology & AI

- Green Economy Growth: Sustainability initiatives and renewable energy investments will continue to rise, driven by climate commitments.
3. Climate & Environment
- Climate Action Acceleration: More countries will implement stricter carbon reduction policies and invest in green tech.
- Extreme Weather Events: Climate change may still cause challenges, prompting global cooperation on disaster resilience.
4. Geopolitics
- Hope for Stability: Many analysts predict efforts toward peace and rebuilding in regions affected by conflict, though tensions in certain areas may persist.
- Global Cooperation: Expect stronger alliances around technology standards, cybersecurity, and climate goals.
5. Lifestyle & Society
- Health & Longevity: Advances in biotech and personalized medicine could improve life expectancy and quality of life.
- Cultural Shifts: Digital communities and immersive experiences (AR/VR) may redefine social interaction and entertainment.

My plans for 2026
Personal Goals
- Fitness & Well-being:
- I will keep exercising this year to stay in shape both mentally and physically. However, I plan to reduce the frequency from 5–6 times a week to about 2–4 times, as the previous schedule was a bit intense. This adjustment will also free up time for other activities.
- Sleep & Stress Management:
- I will continue improving my sleep and stress management throughout the year. This remains one of my top priorities.
- Blogging & Creative Projects:
- This year, I aim to keep publishing high-quality blog posts and grow my presence on social media through engaging videos on Youtube and creative photos on Instagram.
- I hope to attract more readers and subscribers who enjoy the content I create. Feel free to share suggestions on topics you’d love to read about—leave your thoughts in the comments!
Professional Goals
- Skill Development:
- I will definitely attend courses, seminars, and projects that help me develop my skills, regardless of the area of expertise. I already have a few project management courses lined up and hope to find more opportunities.
- Career Growth:
- I intend to advance in my career this year. I miss the leadership role I had before, so perhaps something similar or a mentorship position would be ideal—something where I can make a bigger impact than in my current role, which offers limited development opportunities. I’ll stay open-minded to what comes my way.
- Financial Goals:
- My financial goal is to keep improving my net worth. For now, I’m monitoring the global market to see if conditions favor a “buy” mode. My investment plans may include companies, funds, and other lucrative opportunities. Any side hustle would greatly help in achieving this goal.
Travel & Adventure
- Destinations:
- Japan is at the top of my list, but that trip will likely wait another year due to other expenses which are more important this year.
- Other interesting destinations include Gdansk in Poland or countries in Central Europe, where train travel is convenient. I’d also love to experience flying business or first class someday, though it hasn’t felt worth the cost yet. A summer trip to Tallinn is very likely.
- Experiences:
- I’m leaving this open for now to allow for spontaneous opportunities.
Personal Growth
- Learning:
- As mentioned, I want to advance in my career by developing my skills in various ways. Career growth isn’t just about titles or paychecks—it’s about gaining knowledge and using it to help others.
- Self-development is essential; otherwise, you risk becoming that person who spends all day on the couch watching Netflix.
- Mindset:
- Staying motivated has been challenging lately. My strong desire for career advancement has clashed with wanting time for my blog and personal life. Focusing on one thing at a time should help me stay on track.
Conclusion on my plans for 2026
It’s been rewarding to set my plans for 2026 what I hope will be a brighter—and safer—year, free from conflict in Europe or anywhere else. After reflecting on the past year, I feel ready to focus on 2026 and the objectives I’ve set for myself. Will there be challenges? Joy? Setbacks? Triumphs? Likely a mix of all these—but by staying positive, I believe we can create more wins than losses.
2026 is a blank canvas, and I’m excited to paint it with experiences, growth, and meaningful achievements. Will I hit every goal? Probably not—but the journey matters more than perfection. That’s why my plans for 2026 include flexibility and balance, not just rigid targets.
A big thank you to all of my readers! Hope to see you here again very soon.
